3.3 Analytics and performance cookies (consent)
Help us understand how our platform is used so we can improve usability, reliability, SEO, and traffic quality. This may include page views, referrers, approximate country or region, device/browser, stream watch events, error rates, and signals that help distinguish likely humans from bots or crawlers. We use aggregated or anonymised reporting wherever possible.

3.4 Search and SEO data
Google Search Console may provide us with aggregated information about search queries, impressions, clicks, page URLs, countries, devices, and indexing issues. Search Console reporting does not identify individual visitors to us, but it helps us understand how people find WhispSocio and improve SEO.
4. Managing your consent
- New visitors see our cookie banner and can accept or decline optional cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies load automatically.
- You can change or withdraw consent any time via the cookie settings page. Changes take effect immediately for future browsing; enabling analytics reloads the page before optional analytics start.
- If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal we do not enable optional analytics or conversion tracking, even if you previously opted in.
- You can also clear cookies through your browser controls (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.). Refer to the help section of your browser for instructions.
5. Cookie security and data storage
- All sensitive cookies are transmitted via HTTPS and flagged as
SecureandHttpOnlywhere appropriate. - We use the
SameSite=Laxattribute to reduce the risk of cross-site request forgery. - Optional cookies, session-storage identifiers, Google Analytics, and custom anonymous conversion events are not enabled until you provide analytics consent, and we maintain a consent record for auditing.
- We periodically review cookies in use and remove any that are no longer needed.
6. Regional notes
Our cookie framework is based on UK PECR requirements, but we adapt where local law expects additional notices:
- EU/EEA: Consent is required for all non-essential cookies. We store proof of consent and honour withdrawal immediately.
- United States: We currently rely on notice-and-opt-out models in states that permit it, but we still provide opt-in controls for analytics and personalisation to simplify compliance.
- Canada & Australia: We follow local guidance from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the OAIC on implied consent and tracking technologies.
- Other regions: Where local rules conflict with this policy, the stricter requirement applies. We may disable optional cookies for visitors from jurisdictions with additional restrictions.
7. Updates to this policy
We update this policy when we introduce new features, change our use of cookies or similar technologies, or to reflect legal requirements. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, notified through the cookie banner.
